Happy Birthday Ty-Ty the Muscle Guy!

I cannot believe that my baby is 1! Where did the year go?? I have had so much fun being a mom. I feel like I have grown as much as my baby has. Here are a few things that I LOVE about my boy:

• He is feisty. If we tell him "no" and he really wants whatever he is not allowed to do/have, he will talk/yell back at us. We quietly laugh behind books and pillows.

• He is sooo active. This boy will not settle down for a cuddle unless he is deep in the REM cycle. I love that he is a "mover" like his dada.

• He loves his mommy. There is nothing in the world like a boy who loves his mommy. I can't imagine the day when he won't want me to hold him and love him. I pray that it never comes.

• He is tough. I guess I never realized that some babies are tougher than others. Tyson 100% got Greg's tolerance of pain. He is so tough that sometimes I think I need to be more delicate with him (although he does prefer roughness to tenderness). Sometimes when he falls hard, (or gets shots from the Dr.) and doesn't shed a single tear I stare in awe and amazement. He is our little muscle guy (because he is strong too).

• He is a talker. I love that he is learning to communicate. His first word was "dog" and now he says "Uhhh" for up and "da-da" for, that's right, Daddy. It is neat to see him learn to express his desires with words and signs. We are working on, "I love you, Mommy. You are the best mom in the whole, entire world." He is actually coming along nicely on that one :P

• He is a happy kid & already has a sense of humor. This boy knows a funny lady when he sees one. He thinks he has Ellen DeGeneres as a mom, and I have to say, she just might be a close 2nd. He loves to laugh and is pretty content with life. He loves to make us laugh, too, which is so darn darling. We (okay, mostly just me), find him HILARIOUS.

• He loves to mimic. He watches people with so much intent, it is kind of strange (my mom says he gets that from me--at least that is one thing besides his good looks). He watches, and then copies. I love it. He will yelp, cough, sniffle, laugh, pout and cry--those are his specialties. He came up with those all on his own, now we just have fun making him do them.

• Best of all, I love that he is ours. I feel so blessed to have him in our lives. I thank my Heavenly Father every day for allowing us to be his parents. He was definitely worth the wait. In all of the trying, I never thought that I would get this perfect little baby boy out of it. I hope he knows how much I love him. I can't imagine my life without him. It is so neat to experience the change that comes with having children. Happy Birthday loving boy! I love you baby!
