"Joyful Life"

I had the opportunity to leave my sick husband with Ty (or Ty with my sick husband) and head off to TIME OUT for WOMEN this past weekend. What a fun break! I thought a few times about not going, as Greg was sick, and I was sure that TyMan was going to get something, but I decided to go for it. And, of course, it was worth it. (PS-the boys survived without their nurse).

The theme of the conference was Joyful Life, which they defined as: great delight or happiness caused by a life that is exceptionally good or satisfying. We heard from many great speakers. I especially loved what Sheri Dew, Mary Ellen Edmunds, and Hilary Weeks had to share.

I attended the conference with 6 other ladies: Daisy Feisty-Fuentes, Lindsay Air-Freshener, April Shoe-Mocker, Krystal Lactation, Mariah Deseret-winner, and Julie Sweetness. (I am the 7th in the picture, Noel Yappy-Trappy).
Yes, I have grown 2 feet since living in FL--It's the humidity.
Here April, Krystal and I are checking in with our men. Yes, we did make a HUGE sacrifice by riding 6 hours in the BACK of the van, thanks for noticing. (PS-I would do it again.)

Although I enjoyed myself, I was very anxious to see my boys. Tyson had begun walking around more regularly the couple days before I left, and I had completely forgotten, so it was way too cute when he stood up from the kitchen floor and walked over to meet me at the door ALL BY HIMSELF! He was so proud of himself.

Greg began to feel much better by Saturday night. Tyson, unfortunately, did not. He went to bed shortly after I got home, but woke up about 1 1/2 hours after he went down. Greg said he had had diarrhea most of the day, so when I heard him stir, instead of letting him go back to sleep, I got up to check on him. He was sitting in a surprisingly large pool of sweet smelling, pink vomit.

My life was joyful at that moment for a few reasons:

1. I was SOOOO glad I got up and checked on him before he had time to play in it.

2. He loves "softies" so I lay one of his soft blankets down for him to sleep on, and it just so happens, his yellow softie caught every last bit of throw-up (thank you very much!).

And, 3. When I got up to get my sicky, I left the baby monitor on so Greg heard my, "Oh! Darn it. Poor Baby!" and came in to check on our boy. Is that so sweet or what?!! He removed the discolored softie and rinsed it off for me, so I could love on my sick boy. Then, he rocked Tyson for a minute, loving on him a little as well.

I have decided that it is not too hard to find joy in my life. I have been blessed with a wonderful(and SUPER hard-working) husband (who, after 2 weeks has returned from the dead--HALLELUJAH!!) the sweetest baby boy in the world and great friends and family. What else do you need (besides a steady job at BabyGap???!!)? I've got it all!

Noel, I'm so sorry that your boys got sick, but I am a little jealous that you have friends to go to Time Out with. It looks like fun. I'm glad you had a great time. Maybe someday when our husbands are both wealthy ortho's (that day will be MUCH sooner for you) we can afford to fly to each other and go together! Good luck with the sickies. I hope Ty gets better soon.

wow! that sounds like fun. I was planning on going when it was here in Denver, but i didnt know anyone well enough to go with someone. I really wish I would have gone.

So sorry about your little sicky boys. That is not fun. I know what vomit is... a little too well.

Isn't always to perfect timing to have the reminder of what Joy we can find in our lives.

I'm so jealous! Julie and I talked about going last year, but Doug was too busy to have the kids this weekend. Maybe next year. Sounds like you guys had a blast. Great pictures!!!

Yappy Trappy...now that's good!:P Glad the boyz are better! Cleaning up throw up in the middle of the night is not so fun. Betcha never thought you'd see Greg clean up a hot steamin' pile of throw up without a complaint! Good for him!
