Christmas

Thankfully I was ready for Christmas by the end of October, so the surprise entrance of our Little Bug didn't cause too much EXTRA craziness. We had a wonderful day, Greg and I both feeling like we had already celebrated Christmas on December 17th.

This is what Little Bug did while we opened gifts...
Our "new family" shot. Guess why Macy is sad...
...And now she's happy!
We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Baby Hudson

Our sweet little peanut of a baby arrived exactly 3 weeks early, on Friday, December 17, 2010.
He weighed 5 Lbs. 15 oz., and was 18 1/2 inches long.

Here is his story-- quickly and mostly with pictures :)

My water broke around 3:00am on Friday morning. I was surprised and a little confused. My water broke with Tyson, and I knew right away what had happened. With Hudson, though, I had finally quit wishing for him to come early, and was really hoping that he would come AFTER Christmas. Consequently, it took me about 30 minutes, and several weird self-devised tests, to believe that my water had REALLY broken.
.
When I faced reality, I called Shelby, who thought I was joking, then promptly showed up to tend to our sleeping beauties. Then we were off, feeling pretty good about ourselves, having done this twice before.
.
We got to the hospital around 4:30am and I was having contractions pretty regularly. I got checked and we'll just say I wasn't ready to have a baby anytime soon, despite the amount of pain I believed I was in (okay, I was dilated to less than a 2-- the nurse did say contractions are more painful once your water has broken).
.
We told the nurse we OF COURSE wanted the epidural, called the anesthesiologist, he got us hooked up, and then she started the pitocin. We were off! By 6:00 I was dilated to a 2+ (now we're movin'!).
.
So around 9:45 I got checked again, thinking/hoping that I'd made it to a 3 (wasn't it supposed to go fasted the more times you did it-- "it" being labor??) Good news, I was at a 6! Now we're talkin.
.
Greg went to get breakfast, and came back 20 minutes later. I told him I felt a bit of pressure and thought I would call the nurse back in a few minutes. He MADE me call her right then, and TA-DA! I was ready to go. Less than 15 min to dilate from a 6 to complete. Now, you're impressed!
.
The Dr. showed up within 5 minutes (he was on his way to the bank :) and we had a baby 3 pushes later. Seriously! It could not have been easier to have a baby! I'm sure the fact that he was under 6 Lbs (only by an ounce, mind you) helps. Apparently these hips are good for something. Honestly, though, we are so grateful that he was healthy being as early as he was. We feel VERY blessed to have him here, ready to be fattened like Macy was.
.
So, obviously, I wrote the "quickly" part before I began typing-- sorry. I was right about the lots of pictures part-- :)
Upon arrival... My final maternity shots with Baby #3

Ready to GO!!
... and DONE!

Pure joy :)

Greg's mom and sister (the photographer--so unfortunately not seen in any pics) came for the delivery. It was great to have family there.
Tyson & Macy's first sight of their new brother. Love at first sight, wouldn't you say? (At least for Tyson! Mace was mad that Greg gave the baby to Tyson first. Look at her hands ready to go.)
I just thought this was a cute picture of the little bug.
.
And there will be many more of these types of pictures to follow, I'm sure.
We all love this little Buggy. I feel like I am playing house with a baby doll he is so cute and tiny. Greg says to live it up, because in a few months he'll look like the other two did. Probably true, so I am enjoying every second of his tiny sweetness.

Welcome to our Family Hudson John Trapnell!

Happy Halloween

How about since I am a bit behind, we just check out the pics from Halloween??

Here is the ever-festive Trapnell Family before the ward Trunk-or-Treat. No masks were allowed, so Wolverine got to have BLUE hair. He loved it! No excuse for mom and dad. I did talk Greg into wearing black at least... Then he got mad because we matched. You can't win, I tell you!

Mace-Face insisted that we do something to her hair too. So, we did. She LOVED getting hairspray in her hair, and has asked for it each day since.

Shelby, who always seems to be around when we need her, said to me, "Noel, you need to take a picture with Mace because you look cute today." I was slightly offended that she didn't think sweats and my signature hair-bun were cute.... I will return the favor when she is 30 weeks prego. And really, don't the braces just make me look sooo cute?? (They are finally off by the way... wahoo!)
Tyson and Drew at their school party the next day...
And then for the main event.... Halloween! This year Tyson made it around the block. Macy rode in the stroller and ate a sucker. The weather was CRAZY! G and I, being the lovers of Halloween that we are, thought about skipping the real deal... but then the nutty trick-or-treaters started coming IN THE HAIL. After that, Tyson was not about to miss putting his costume on one more time. So Mr. and Mrs. Scrooge let him...

Pictures from the Pumpkin Patch

Our trip to the pumpkin patch this year was a chilly one. We just ran over quick one night while Faith, Cruz and my mom were in town (after Cruz's surgery). Shelb was our photographer... She did great until the end when she tried to get the kids to lie in the corn kernels... ha ha.

Macers thought she had died and gone to heaven when we put Sadie in her arms.

I did mention that we ran over there, insinuating that there was NO prep-work done on ourselves... and yes, I'm looking quite chubby. These fine ladies would like to have shared a picture of my backside, because apparently, that area has taken the brunt of baby #3. Good thing I can't turn around far enough to see it!

32 down and 7 to go!!

I know....You would think that by now I could have figured out how to compose a decent face for the picture the first time around, since there is EVER only ONE chance. Maybe if G read the blog and saw what I looked like he'd care.... probably not. Maybe for baby #4, Tyson will be able to take my pictures.... We can only hope, right?

I only post this because of what Macy did next: She was very intently watching me in the first picture, as you can see. I walked over to get the camera, and turned around to find this:

what a little peanut! Lookin good Lady!

Tyson's First Field Trip

Tyson and his preschool class went to the pumpkin patch last week. His teacher called and asked if I would like to go with them. Now the question is: Did she call me because she was worried about taking Tyson for a walk along a busy street to the pumpkin patch, or was it because she needed another volunteer and she had already tried all the other moms/dads who didn't have 18-month olds at home? We'll never know. I'll just say that I got there a little late (after dropping my 18-month old off) and guess who was at the FRONT of the line holding the TEACHER'S hand....
That's right. TYSON!!!
Now for the second question: Did Tyson ASK to be at the front of the line (possible), or was he ASSIGNED to the front of the line to hold his teacher's hand (very possible, and most likely), however, we will never know for sure. These are just some of the dilemmas I encounter each day with my little sweetheart. He is definitely a first child with a strong personality. Go Tyce!

Pre-School

I know that it is ONLY Pre-School (and its only 2 days a week), but it is a big step for me. I realized that there is no turning back now. Next year Tyson will go for 3 days a week, then it's on to kindergarten. I am slowly loosing my freedom (of no schedule to my life), and oh, how I have enjoyed it!
.
Here are some pictures from the big day. Tyson was thrilled to go. When he got home, his only complaint was that he didn't get to jump on the big trampoline in the gym :( He is doing pre school at the gymnastics school; where he spends almost half the day doing tumbling and gymnastics. Perfect for a 3 year old, don't you think??!

Tyson's Pics

I had Tyson's pictures taken over the summer. I searched and searched for a photographer that I liked, and I found her. (I actually think I LOVE her.) She is awesome. She is most known for her newborn pics (and lucky me, I am PREGO), so I was a little hesitant to have her take Tyson's pictures, but he loved her (that is saying ALOT) and the pics are fabulous. Here are only a few..

Now, Macers had a BLACK EYE, (believe it)--Skye worked a miracle. You can't even tell... too bad she was not loving the photo session as much as Tyson.

I can totally see myself in Tyson in this picture... CRAZY!

Sorry it took so long to report back (I was in CA for a wedding... I actually thought I'd find time to blog. Ha, Ha!)
Drum roll, please....

Just as I thought (that makes me 2 for 3... I think I got this figured out :). We are THRILLED with little brother. Right now we call him Tres (cause he's #3)!

What does a Picture like this make you think??

That's right.... Greg and I are TO BUSINESS!!
Welcome Baby #3 in early January (or late December if I have any say in it, which I usually do :)
Now, about the picture... Need I remind you how much G loves to take pictures?? It has taken me 19 weeks to get this one! Can you stand it? I am thrilled with the timing, and Macers is clearly wishing that she could be "up peese!" This was the only shot.. sorry folks. But doesn't it kinda make you smile?

So, Tomorrow is the big day, when we will be finding out that our baby is a BOY (<--- my guess, of course). I will try to be more prompt in that announcement.
